Polysaccharides are a long chain of carbohydrate molecules known for their nutritional value and possibly supporting the immune system. Turkey Tail contains two particularly interesting polysaccharides, PSK and PSP. PSK may help strengthen the immune system, whilst PSP may act as a prebiotic to modulate the microbiome composition in the intestine. Turkey Tail has been shown to be one of the highest sources of beta-d-glucans. Beta-d-glucans have numerous benefits for our immune system; they may be able to assist in modulating our immune system.
