Morning Star Myrrh Incense
Morning Star Myrrh incense is made by Japanese company, Nippon Kodo.
Myrrh is a natural gum or resin that is obtained from a thorny type of Commiphora tree. The bark of the tree is punctured, so the tree secretes resin. When it hardens, it can be removed from the tree.
Mentions of myrrh can be found in Ancient Egyptian and Christian traditions – for example, it was one of the highly coveted gifts presented at the birth of baby Jesus. It’s also widely associated with natural medicine, including traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.
When burned, the Morning Star Myrrh incense produces an interesting combination of sweet and spicy notes. It’s a warm and cozy scent and a popular choice for the autumn and winter months.
